What’s New Version 6.00
This document introduces some of the latest features in the TT Payroll and Personnel system.
New menus
If you have Microsoft Office 2007 or later, you will notice that the TT PAPA menus have changed to look more like the Microsoft Office tab bar:
There are now three main tabs:
- TT Payroll – for the main screens like Employee, Adjustment Entry and Payslip Generation.
- TT Personnel – for extra screens like Entitlement Review and Training Sheet.
- TT Database – for setup screens like Companies, Jurisdictions and Adjustment Types.
So to open the Employee form, just click Employees. You’ll get the hang of the new look fairly quickly!
New Jersey ITS Returns
From April 2014 all Jersey payrolls must use the new Jersey ITS Returns software because the format has changed. This must be installed before upgrading to version 6.00 of TT Payroll. Please see our guide called ‘New Jersey Returns’.
New Jersey Manpower fields
From the Employee form, use the View Form list to choose the Status form. The following Manpower section will be displayed and you can enter the employee’s Residential Status, Contract Type and Exempt Status:
The Employment status will be set automatically from the Hours Per Week field as entered on the Employee form.
On the Payslip Returns screen you may notice some new buttons for the Manpower Returns which you can use in June 2014 and every six months thereafter. When you have entered the Manpower data feel free to preview the report:
Before submitting any Manpower Returns please ensure that the new Manpower Reference field is entered on the Company form.
New Guernsey Online Returns
Guernsey companies can submit their Quarterly Returns in the normal way by selecting Returns from the Payslips area.
If the Guernsey email settings are changed, then instead of an email being sent, the encrypted returns will be uploaded over the internet direct to the States of Guernsey, and a unique Reference number for the submission will be displayed for you to keep.
To change your email settings please select Jurisdictions from the Payroll area of the TT Database tab as shown in the menu below:
Then enter your own email address for Tax and Social Security – these will be used to notify you of successful submission of your returns.
Allow Zero and Negative Payslips
There are now two options on the Company Options tab to allow the creation of negative payslips and the printing of payslips with zero Net Pay. We do not recommend these being turned on except in exceptional circumstances.
Payslip Printing
For large organisations, printing hundreds of payslips can be slow, so we have improved the way the figures are calculated and displayed to speed them up. This performance improvement applies to all standard payslip layouts – if you have a bespoke layout please contact us so that the performance changes can be applied to your bespoke payslip.
Yearsheet
The Adjustment Yearsheet, where absence is entered, has been improved to work much faster. You should experience a much more responsive interface when you are colouring in your holidays, sickness and other absences.
Windows 7 and 64 bit PCs
The TT Payroll and Personnel system now works under both 16 bit and 32 bits versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Office 365
Microsoft Office 365, which contains Microsoft Access 2013, is now able to run the TT Payroll and Personnel system. We are phasing out support for Microsoft Access 2003 systems soon so you may like to upgrade your PCs.
